United Reform Church, Tunbridge Wells
A memorial on the inner wall of the United Reform Church, Tunbridge Wells. It may just be how I see it, but this seems a curious mixture of memorial list and bomb shape? If anyone knows of its origins, I'd be most interested in adding that information.
Royal Academy, London
Entrance to Royal Academy
I visited the Royal Academy for the first time this year, when my son and his girlfriend treated me and my husband to the David Hockney show. I noticed this poignant memorial on the wall outside the main entrance.
Platform 1, Tonbridge Station
Platform 1, Tonbridge Station
When I caught the train home from a recent trip to the Western Front, my eye was drawn to a memorial plaque on Platform 1 at Tonbridge rail station. I found it very pleasing and touching that employees and passengers had put together the money to commemorate their late friend, who turned out, on closer scrutiny, to be the station cat. There are times when I love being British!
