Recently the excellent local history group the Southborough Society has been instrumental in putting green plaques up on houses in Southborough commemorating memorable people who lived there, including a soldier who survived the infamous Charge of the Light Brigade. Another is a woman whose significant political achievements are not these days widely remembered, Margaret Bondfield.
